About Me
Highlighting some of my non-physics interests
During the pandemic, I got really into running and finished my first race (a half marathon) in Fall 2021. I learned to ski in the French Alps while in grad school and have tried to go again every winter, though the Northeast slopes are not the same. I enjoy baking and some of my specialties include chocolate chip banana bread, buttermilk currant scones, irish soda bread, and shortbread chocolate chip cookies. Whenever I could during school, I took art classes (pictured below is my final art project with the UChicago campus done in various artistic styles). For many years, I created my family's holiday card featuring our old miniature poodle Ringo. One of my favorite weekend activities is visiting a new (or old) art museum.
I played violin up through college where I was a member of the UChicago Chamber Orchestra. Previously I had played in my high school strings ensemble and the Rivers Youth orchestra. Classical
music is still the only music I can listen to while working and I enjoy attending symphony orchestra concerts, in particular those held at Tanglewood. While at UChicago, I was also a member
of UC Cheer and Pi Beta Phi, where I met many of my physics mentors and study group members.
